No more MIA

What a whirlwind it’s been since I last posted! So many things have happened, so many changes our little family has/is going through! Lots of tears both happy and sad. Expect lots of new posts coming up. Might as well start somewhere though so here’s part 1:

The End of Pregnancy

In one overwhelming weekend we had our maternity pictures done and our baby shower. Our maternity pictures turned out better than I could have hoped for and in getting them done I also found a friend, our photographer. Our husbands kind of work together-same MOS but currently doing different jobs and also in different companies. She’s a veteran herself, who also had the same MOS as our husbands. Here’s a couple of pictures from our shoot by Mindy King Photography.

Our baby shower was a lot of work on our end since we didn’t have family there who would traditionally do pretty much all work for a baby shower, however I’m so glad we did it! Everyone had a good time, we played lots of games including my favorite to watch: blindfolded diaper changing race, and we got lots of things we needed for our little one. We are so lucky to have such great friends!

Shortly after our baby shower I started getting miserable. My body ached. I didn’t want to even drive any more. And of course we were moving out of our house. I think what you go through at the end of pregnancy is something that you can’t possibly understand till you’re there or have gone through it: you’re ready for it to be over, you may have a touch of depression, excitement when the midwife tells you that you are make progress, hope that the most ridiculous things will send you into labor (i.e-a full moon, baby crying, etc.), disappointment when you don’t experience even false labor or labor doesn’t happen as fast as you think it will and almost despair when your due date comes and goes and you’re still pregnant.

I wish I had posted about this during the time since now it seems like such a small thing. To sum it up, I felt like I was going to cry if I was pregnant for another day. But we made it through and everything was so worth it 🙂

And because it  was so amazing my labor story is next on its own post!
